REAL POWER: MAXING OUT ON GOD'S LOVE |

CHECKLIST FOR SPIRITUAL SURVIVAL
Pilots do a preflight check before
they take off. They run their checklist before they run their
airplane. They don’t just wing it. Aircraft are too complex, and too
many things can go wrong if they take off without thoroughly checking
all the systems on board.
Although flying an airplane is
demanding, it’s not nearly as challenging as making a life. You only
have one life, and you need to get things right the first time. If
the only way you learn is through trial and error, you will crash and
burn dozens of times during your short stay on planet earth.
Pilots train on simulators for
hundreds of hours before they are allowed to fly. But there are no
simulators that train people in how to make a life. Most of them are
woefully unprepared for the challenges they face. They blunder along
doing the best they know how, hoping things will eventually work out.
There has to be a better way. People would be better off if they went
through a checklist that prepared them for each day.
Every morning you should do a
preflight check to make sure you know where you are going and have
sufficient resources to make the trip. Five minutes spent running
your checklist will keep you from crashing and burning, and it will
assure your spiritual survival.
SPIRITUAL CHECKLIST – THE ABC’S OF
SPIRITUAL SURVIVAL
The first seven letters of the
alphabet contain your checklist for spiritual survival. These letters
serve as a simple and convenient reminder that makes it easy to do a
quick spiritual check up. You need to make seven different checks
when you wake up each morning. A few minutes spent running through
the checklist will tell you whether your spirit is healthy, and if
there is a problem, it will tell you what to do about it. What are
the seven items on this list?
1.
A stands for ambivalence
check.
2.
B stands for blessing check.
3.
C stands for challenges check.
4.
D stands for decision check.
5.
E stands for eliminating
negativity.
6.
F stands for forgiveness
check.
7.
G stands for go with God.
This checklist prevents you from
making big mistakes, and helps you deal with small problems before
they become large ones. If you pass all seven checks with flying
colors, your spirit will be robust and healthy, and you will greatly
increase the odds that you will have a fantastic day.

AMBIVALENCE CHECK
The first letter in the checklist is
A which stands for ambivalence. You need to perform an ambivalence
check to see if you are a member of God’s Zero Ambivalence Club. This
exclusive club is open to all people who love God with all their mind,
heart, and strength. Their intellect, emotions, and will are
committed to loving him. Your relationship with God is meant to be a
zero ambivalence experience. The same is true for your dreams.
Ambivalence is the mortal enemy of
your dreams. Unless you are committed to them with everything that is
in you, you will not be willing to do whatever it takes to make them
happen. The only way to make your dreams come true is to live
congruently with your intellect, emotions, and will all heading in the
same direction. Whenever you see people living their dreams, you
discover that they are members of this club.
Your morning ambivalence check gives
you the opportunity to renew your membership in God’s Zero Ambivalence
Club. Renewing your membership is a joint operation. You can’t put
God’s love in your heart. That’s God’s job. Your job is to open your
heart and mind to his love, and let God do the rest. If you are
having trouble with ambivalence in your relationship with God, it’s
because you haven’t opened your heart and mind to his love.

Love isn’t something you can conjure
up if it’s not there. God is the source of all love on planet earth.
If there isn’t enough love in your heart and mind, it’s because they
are closed. When you open them up, God’s love comes rolling through.
God’s Zero Ambivalence Club is a club of the open heart and mind.
Each morning you must dare to call God your Father, and let his love
flow into your life. When God’s love has completed its miraculous
work, you will be amazed to discover that your heart and mind are now
on fire with enthusiasm and power. The focus of your life has shifted
to God’s love, and you are now a member of God’s Zero Ambivalence
Club. There is no limit to how good you life can become when you love
God with all your mind, all your heart, and all your strength.
BLESSING CHECK
The second letter in the checklist is
B which stands for blessing check. You must count your blessings or
your blessings don’t count. When you wake up each morning, you decide
whether you are going to count your blessings or problems.
When you count your blessings, your
problems shrink, and soon you forget they exist. When you count your
problems, your blessings shrink, and you forget you have any.
If you don’t count your blessings,
they disappear from your mind. Although they are still there, if you
don’t think about them, you forget about them. Each day you need to
remind yourself of your blessings to keep them active in your mind.
The best way to fill your cup of joy
is to turn on your Good Finder and rediscover your blessings. The
things that are positive in your life far outnumber the negative.
When you focus on the positive, your mind replays your blessings all
day long. You must be proactive about performing your blessing
check. You can’t just talk about it. You must do it.
The blessings in your life are an
expression of God’s love. The first thing in the morning, write at
least twenty blessings on a sheet of paper. Your blessing check will
set the tone for the rest of your day. All day long you will remember
that God loves you and has a plan for your life that is better than
anything you can imagine.
CHALLENGE CHECK
The third letter in the checklist is
C which stands for challenges. You will face big challenges in the
next twenty-four hours. You should decide at the beginning of your
day what you are going to do when those challenges come along.
First, you decide where you are going
to focus your mind. Will you focus on the positive or negative
aspects of the challenges you face.
Second, you decide what the
challenges mean to you. Will you choose a positive or negative
meaning?
Third, you decide what you are going
to do in spite of the challenges you face. Are you going to quit or
keep on keeping on?
When you finish your challenge check,
your focus will be positive, you will have selected a positive meaning
to the challenges you face, and you will be prepared to keep on
keeping on.
